firework I
Designed for the world's biggest ephemeral event, Burning Man, which happens annually at the Black Rock Desert in Nevada (USA), FIREWORK I adapts to the emerging needs of the local community. It is a free space that allows many forms of use. The base has 8 meters in diameter, making it a large space that is freely devoted to anyone in Burning Man. This sheltered space provides an extensive all-day shading area for those who may need protection from the desert sun. A “cube” furniture pattern concept was also developed and has a versatile layout, and it can be used as benches, tables or even, if stacked, a stage for attractions. This project is designed for the user’s improvisation at all times, making the place free for any use. The main material’s construction is wood, so the project’s purpose is that at the end of the event, FIREWORK I, can become a big bonfire, ceasing to exist and giving the users a final socializing around the fire.
